Living and working in the Washington, D. C. area allowed me a wide range of opportunities to photograph many stage productions. Independently and as staff photographer for Rock Concert Magazine I had the chance to meet some of the great performers of the day. Clients like Wolf Trap Farm Park and the Washington National Cathedral also provided memorable performance opportunities.
A Story:
While shooting for Rock Concert Magazine, we had a limo drive us to the venue to interview Eric Clapton for a cover story. We had arranged that at the end of the concert his road manager was to gather us for the interview with Eric. After the show I noticed that Clapton and his group were getting into their limo and beating it. In a fit of anger, our editor piled us into our car and had the driver race Clapton’s limo to National Airport. Don’t know how we managed that without attracting the police, but we didn’t get ticketed or the promised interview. Man, Rock Stars…
